On Thursday, March 1st/2007 ENIGMATICA ENTERTAINMENT & PEPPERPOT - Victoria's Hypest Caribbean Radio proudly presents VP Recording Artists MORGAN HERITAGE to Victoria BC for the first time! Morgan Heritage's new album is called "Another Rockaz Moment" - also the title of their latest tour! The 5 members of MORGAN HERITAGE are children of the roots reggae icon Denroy Morgan, but they are more than just a legendary reggae band…they're a revolution, a family, and a force of nature! On tour promoting their eighth album, “Another Rockaz Moment” on VP Records label, they will bring the sound of Jamaican Dancehall systems, New York Hip-Hop & R&B, and California punk rock, all fused into an unprecedented, harmonious whole. Self-proclaimed “soldiers of Jah,” their music breathes spirituality and positivity. Much like the Wailers before them, Morgan Heritage captures the Spirit of Rastafari in both their music and their lives, and their performances are said to be an experience of the natural mystic. This show is not to be missed by reggae and dancehall fans especially as this will be their first visit ever to the island.
We're also proud to host ROYAL PLATOON SOUND featuring Prince Sho and his crew! They'll be spinning the best reggae, dancehall before and after MORGAN HERIT...
more... | | TOUR SEND OFF FINALE FOR ONE DROP! Sat. November 25th 2006 9:30pm - 2am doors at 9pm One Drop, Kia Kadiri, Current Swell, Burnt, Sailors Blood at Capital Ballroom
This kick ass show is going to be the tour send off show for ONE DROP before they go down the west coast of the USA to play some dates in early to mid December.
In addition to the stacked bill of local talent you see here we are especially pleased to host BURNT from San Diego, California that will be performing music with reggae, hip hop and punk influences. Burnt are also one of the most socially active and politically conscious bands in the reggae scene in San Diego. One Drop will be doing some dates with them down in California as well.
Following a series of sold out local shows; a successful ICA Folk Festival performance and notable appearances with artists such as Xavier Rudd and The Beautiful Girls, Victoria's own Current Swell are stoked to be a part of One Drop's send off tour.
Arbutus Trio that have quickly made waves in the music scene locally and throughout BC will be in the house giving us their unique blend of reggae with influences ranging from The Slackers, Alpha Blondie and ofcourse One Drop:)
Finally we are extremely excited to have KIA KADIRI back on the bill with One Drop since her last collaboration with them back in 2002! Kia Kadiri is one of Canada's most revered hip hop MCs and she will be performing both a solo set and some tracks with On...
more... | | Canada's Afro-Beat Jazz/Funk Juggernauts! Thu. July 27th 2006 9:30pm - 1am doors at 9pm Mr. Something Something, Corwin Fox at Central Bar & Grill
This is going to be an awesome show! If you dig Anti Balas Afro Beat Orchestra you're going to dig this band hands down. The music of Mr. Something Something ranges from afro-beat to jazz to funk and much more. The tunes are both energetic but chill at the same time - great for dancing or listening.
Western instruments and concepts of improvisation are explored and layered over what used to be called afrobeat; but the term strains to contain the innovations happening in the rhythm section at every show. It also fails to express in fiery-enough terms the contributions of notable and electrifying vocalist/performance artist Johan Hultqvist. Breaks and basslines are designed to induce and sustain a state of ecstatic dancing. The horn section strikes with power and uplifts with melody. And above it all, acting as a lightning rod for the combined energies of a Mr. Something Something event, is the lyric statement of the case for change and consciousness. And dance.
Tickets will be $9 advance @ Lyle's Place and Central Bar & Grill

PATTIES DAY BASH!!! Fri. March 17th 2006 9pm - 2am MORGAN HERITAGE, Panic & The Rebel Emergency, PEPPERPOT, NastyJag Sound at Capital Ballroom
The dream of hosting Morgan Heritage has been dashed for the time being and we're all very upset and sad about the recent news. Morgan Heritage cancelled the majority of their dates throughout North America on this latest tour and that includes their other date in Vancouver, dates in Seattle, Portland all throughout California, Colorado and many more.
Refunds for all tickets sold can be obtained at their point of purchase and ticketbreak.com
